we all think we are lonely,
for someone to lie next to,
someone to sleep with,
but what about the forests?
they love us so
the trees and the plants providing the air we need
they ask nothing of us
except consideration in return
and respect for the vital things they provide for us
but we chop them down,
we laugh in their beauty
instead of crying
absorbing all of the wisdom they put forth for us to learn
like they absorb the rain,
or how they give themselves to the wind,
we must learn from how they grow to the Sun, and dance underneath the stars
instead of cowering away behind closed doors
dis-connected
from the eternal source
that we are so deeply longing for
but are too blind
to even know it
